Each year Valley Shakespeare Festival works tirelessly to put together performances for the Valley community.  This has resulted in homeless individuals seeing a personal professional performance of a play, at no cost to them, school age children interacting with Shakespeare for the first time, and being able to ask questions about, and thousands of people experiencing summer performances of Shakespeare in the Park.

The encounters with theater each individual has when attending a Valley Shakespeare Festival performance is why we do it.  Our shows provide the opportunity to learn about history, our culture, the arts, and yourself as you interact with the world around you.  Theater is more than “play”, it is  “the reflections of ourselves living our own experiences; or living through crises and conflicts outside of our limited experience, and thus extending our lives and our knowledge of life.” (Dudley Nichols)
